Established in 1905, the Geological Institute is a student-run academic organization, one of the earliest of its kind in Asia - dedicated to nurturing students’ intellectual growth beyond the classroom. It promotes extra-academic engagement through seminars, meetings, field tours, and publications. Its annual bilingual journal, Bhu-Vidya, provides a platform for students to think independently and express ideas grounded in their academic learning. As the oldest student academic forum in the country, the Geological Institute has remained a source of pride for the Department and Presidency university since its inception.
